Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage in Calgary
Brazilian lymphatic drainage is a firmer, rhythmic evolution of manual lymphatic drainage used to reduce fluid retention and bloating, support detoxification and sculpt the body’s natural contours. At BodyTox by Renu, our lymphatic body studio inside the clinic, practitioners trained in the Detox By Rebecca method combine hands-on technique with vacuum RF therapy. Many clients notice a visibly slimmer, lighter feeling after a single session.
Where Brazilian lymphatic drainage comes from
Brazilian lymphatic drainage grew out of the original manual lymphatic drainage method developed by Dr. Emil and Astrid Vodder, who shared their techniques across Europe from the 1930s to 1950s. The method reached Brazil around the 1980s, where esthetician Madame Waldtraud Ritter Winter, a former student of Dr. Vodder, pioneered a more vigorous, contouring-focused version. It later became a mainstay of celebrity wellness routines, and our practitioners trained in the Detox By Rebecca method developed by Rebecca Faria.
Beyond accelerating post-surgical recovery, the technique is known to enhance circulation, improve sleep quality, support immune function, regulate fluid balance and improve the body’s detoxification process.

Benefits of Brazilian lymphatic drainage
A session goes beyond relaxation. Rhythmic strokes and vacuum therapy reduce fluid retention while stimulating circulation and the lymphatic system.
- Sculpts and defines the silhouette by reducing fluid retention and bloating
- Boosts circulation for a healthier, more radiant skin tone
- Accelerates detoxification, easing inflammation and supporting digestion
- Supports immune health through optimal lymph flow
- Enhances cosmetic post-op recovery and helps minimize scar tissue
- Relieves physical tension, leaving you feeling lighter and more energized
The BodyTox treatments
Each session is customized to your body in a calm, private room. Hands-on technique is combined with a suction machine to smooth body lines and address areas of concern, and every Full BodyTox includes a complimentary 20-minute infrared cocoon session for additional detox and recovery.
- Full BodyTox: arms, legs, tummy and face, with cupping of the back and the option of a back massage. Includes vacuum RF therapy to soften connective tissue, stimulate collagen and improve skin elasticity, plus the infrared cocoon. A complimentary gift is included with your first Full BodyTox.

AnswersDoes lymphatic drainage help cellulite?Only the fluid part. Lymphatic drainage can smooth puffy, dimpled thighs for a day, but cellulite is structural and the bands that cause it do not change.

How is Brazilian lymphatic drainage different from classic lymphatic drainage?
Classic manual lymphatic drainage is a feather-light clinical technique for swelling, lymphedema and post-surgical recovery. Brazilian lymphatic drainage uses firmer, faster rhythmic strokes plus vacuum therapy for contouring and de-bloating. Both move lymph; they serve different goals.
Will I see results after one session?
Many clients notice a visibly slimmer, less bloated appearance and feel lighter immediately after a session. Results build with consistency.
Can I book BodyTox after plastic surgery?
Yes, with your surgeon’s approval. BodyTox by Renu specializes in post-op lymphatic drainage after cosmetic and plastic surgery, and our lymphatic team is trained in the Brazilian method alongside the Vodder and Chikly methods.
