Brazilian Lymphatic Drift in Calgary

Brazilian Lymphatic Drift in Calgary: 90 minutes, $245, with Aisha at BodyTox by Renu. Full-body Brazilian drainage, then a lymphatic facial with vacuum RF.

By The Renu lymphatic and massage team · 5 min read

The Brazilian Lymphatic Drift is a 90-minute, $245 treatment at BodyTox by Renu that puts face and body lymphatic work into one appointment. A full-body Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage flows into upper-body lymphatic drainage and the Drift & Drain facial, with vacuum RF therapy. It is delivered by Aisha Mendes, a licensed esthetician and Certified Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, and it suits people who want both a de-bloating body session and a de-puffing facial without booking twice.

The Brazilian Lymphatic Drift is the BodyTox ritual that covers your whole body and then your face: 90 minutes, $245. It begins with a full-body Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage, moves into upper-body lymphatic drainage, and finishes with our Drift & Drain facial, with vacuum RF therapy along the way. If you have been searching for a face and body lymphatic drainage massage in Calgary, this is the single appointment on our menu that does both.

What happens in the 90 minutes

The session works from the body up to the face, so the facial comes at the end, when you are most relaxed. Broadly:

  1. Full-body Brazilian lymphatic drainage. Brazilian lymphatic drainage is the method created by Rebecca Faria and taught as Detox By Rebecca, which uses its own specialized strokes, pace and pressure. Compared with classic manual lymphatic drainage, it is a firmer, rhythmic style used to reduce fluid retention and bloating. Our page on Brazilian versus manual lymphatic drainage covers the difference.
  2. Upper-body lymphatic drainage. Lighter work over the neck, chest and face to bring the session up toward the facial.
  3. The Drift & Drain facial. Cleansing, exfoliation, sculpting massage and cooling cryo gua sha. The Drift & Drain page describes the facial on its own.
  4. Vacuum RF therapy, used to soften connective tissue and improve skin elasticity. Our page on what vacuum RF therapy does in BodyTox explains the device and what it can reasonably do.

Your session is with Aisha Mendes, who holds a CIDESCO Diploma in Esthetics and is a Certified Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, so the same pair of hands does the body work and the facial.

The Drift, the Full BodyTox, or two separate bookings

All three options get you lymphatic work on both face and body; they differ in emphasis, length and what is included.

Option Length Price What you get
Brazilian Lymphatic Drift 90 min $245 Full-body Brazilian drainage, upper-body drainage and the Drift & Drain facial, with vacuum RF
Full BodyTox 90 min $315 Brazilian drainage of arms, legs, tummy and face, back cupping and an optional back massage, vacuum RF, and a 20-minute cocoon session
TummyTox plus a Drift & Drain 45 min + 60 min $225 + $160 Focused abdominal Brazilian work, then the facial as a separate appointment

How to choose:

  • Pick the Drift when your face matters as much as your body, and you want a true facial with skincare, not just lymphatic strokes on the face.
  • Pick the Full BodyTox when the body is the priority, you want back cupping, or you want the cocoon pod built in. A complimentary gift comes with your first one.
  • Book separately if bloating is mostly in your tummy and you would rather spread the time over two visits.

What it can do, and what it cannot

Expect to feel lighter and less puffy, and to look more rested. The method’s own materials talk about detoxifying, sculpting and fighting cellulite. We describe it more carefully: lymphatic drainage moves excess fluid from tissue toward the lymph nodes, which is why it can de-bloat and de-puff. It does not remove fat, and any lighter feeling reflects fluid, not lost weight. Our page asking whether Brazilian lymphatic drainage detoxes the body goes through that claim.

The relaxation is real, too. In a small study of healthy women, a 45-minute facial massage lowered anxiety and negative mood scores. Ninety minutes of slow, rhythmic work tends to leave people quiet and sleepy, so plan an easy evening.

How often to book it

Most people treat the Drift as an occasional full reset rather than a weekly appointment. Many facial clients come every four to six weeks, and the Drift can sit in that rhythm, perhaps alternating with a shorter facial or a TummyTox. Before a wedding, a holiday or photos, timing matters; our page on timing Brazilian lymphatic drainage before an event covers that. If your goal is mainly de-bloating your body over a few weeks, read how many Brazilian lymphatic drainage sessions you might need before choosing between the Drift and body-only sessions.

Who should skip it, or check with a doctor first

Because the Drift is full-body lymphatic work, the usual cautions apply to the whole session, not just the face. Cleveland Clinic advises against lymphatic drainage massage if you have:

  • a blood clot or deep vein thrombosis
  • cellulitis or another active infection, or a fever
  • heart disease or kidney failure
  • a history of stroke
  • active cancer, or skin damaged by radiation

Some people feel tired, headachy or a little nauseated afterwards. It usually passes, but tell us if it happens so we can adjust next time.

Also hold off if you are pregnant (see Brazilian lymphatic drainage in pregnancy; Aisha’s Pre-natal Drift and Drain is the pregnancy option), if you had surgery recently and have not been cleared by your surgeon, or if you had a C-section, where the Detox By Rebecca guidance is to wait at least two weeks or until your doctor clears you. Our page on who should not have Brazilian lymphatic drainage has the full list.

Call a doctor rather than booking if one leg is suddenly swollen, warm or painful, or if you have new shortness of breath or chest pain.

Questions people ask

Is the Brazilian Lymphatic Drift booked as a facial or a body treatment?

It sits on our lymphatic facials menu, so you book it in Jane under BodyTox Lymphatic Facial. The body work comes first, but the appointment is planned and priced as a facial.

What should I wear to a Brazilian Lymphatic Drift?

Wear something comfortable that is easy to take off and put back on, since the body portion covers most of you and the facial follows. Skip makeup if you can. Your practitioner will tell you how to undress and drape for the body part of the session.

Does the Brazilian Lymphatic Drift include the infrared cocoon pod?

No. The cocoon is included with the Full BodyTox, not the Drift. You can add a 20-minute cocoon session to the Drift for $25 if you would like the heat afterwards.

Is the body part of the Drift firmer than the facial?

Usually, yes. Brazilian lymphatic drainage is a firmer, rhythmic style compared with classic manual lymphatic drainage, while the facial work is lighter. Tell your practitioner if any part feels too strong, and she will adjust.
